So, after many years of attending every London Fashion Weekend since I was 10 years old and seeing many catwalks, on Sunday 19th February I finally got to go to a London Fashion Week catwalk. Well I say London Fashion Week but what I really mean is a Vodafone VIP catwalk that was during London Fashion Week, so I'd say I'm one step closer to attending an official London Fashion Week catwalk. When we entered the main tent where we had to queue for a bit we were greeted with some champagne or elderflower presse; for the younger ones, which included me. Whilst we waited, the tent started to get busier and the atmosphere more exciting. After waiting quite a while for the doors to open we were finally shown to our seats, where a very nice complimentary Richard Nicoll shopper was waiting for us to stuff all of our bits and pieces in.

The designer that was showcasing his Spring/Summer'12 collection as well as a sneaky preview of his Autumn/Winter'12 collection was young British designer, Richard Nicoll. The whole atmosphere of the show was just incredible as it was very busy and there were so many different types of people there which was really good to see. The collection itself was probably one of the most feminine inspired collections I have seen on a catwalk so far.

The overall theme of the Spring/Summer collection I would say was definitely chiffon as when the models walked down the runway there was a definite floaty/feminine vibe, even the Autumn/Winter'12 collection had some chiffon inspired garments.

What I noticed from the structure of the show itself was that the colour scheme became bolder as it went through the collection, for example in the Spring/Summer collection the models started coming out in peach pale colours then some came out in pale blues and some floral prints and then went to more pale brown/beige colours, which obviously fits in with this Spring/Summer trend of pastel colours.

In the Autumn/Winter'12 collection, as you can imagine, the colours were a lot darker and warmer. There wasn't as much chiffon material coming onto the runway, it was more about the structured dresses, coats and skirts and also some patterned knits however there was still a few pieces from the collection that were chiffon like there were some shirts and even trousers but the colours tended to be more bold and warm like blues and bold oranges that remind everyone of Autumn/Winter.

Overall I thought the Spring/Summer collection was a lot more feminine and there were more items I would prefer to buy but that could be because we have only just come out of winter so could not stand to see any more warm clothes. Although there was one piece in the Autumn/Winter collection that really caught my eye and it was a bright pink outfit that was so bold and striking, as soon as I saw the colour I was excited about the next few models to come out in bold colours like that one but sadly there was not.
