MORE PASTELS PASTELS AND MORE PASTELS!!

So, following on from my previous blog about how I love pastel coloured sweets/cakes, today I am going to tell you all about my love for pastel coloured fashion and my favourite pastel items this season! Now as I said before 'Pastels are everywhere this season, you will not be able to go into a high street store without seeing a collection of pastel coloured clothes', which is true, when I went shopping on Saturday most of the shops I went in had a collection of lovely pastel coloured clothes.
The best thing I think about pastel colours is that they always go together! Obviously not all of the time but definitely the majority of the time if you put a pastel colour with another pastel colour it would almost certainly not clash or you could just wear one pastel colour from top to bottom and it would still look good! I think wearing pastels can be so flexible as you can mix them with 'normal' colours as well which is why they are so brilliant! I especially like Topshop's collection; '50's Dinner'

As you can probably tell by now, I LOVE PASTELS! So here are just a few of my favourite pastel items of clothing on the high street this season:
Sheer Long Sleeve Midi Dress from Missguided.com
Turquoise Pearl Collar Tank from River Island
Light Pink Print Tassel Front Espadrilles from River Island

Crepe Shirt Dress from Topshop

PASTELS PASTELS AND MORE PASTELS!

Pastels are everywhere this season, you will not be able to go into a high street clothing store without seeing a collection of pastel coloured clothes! For me pastels are my favourite types of colours, there's something about the tone of the pinks and blues that's so sweet and girly. Its not just this season I have seen and started to love pastels and its not only pastel coloured clothes I love. Anything with pastels in I guarantee I will love it, whether that's cakes, clothes, furniture, anything!

This week I am going to be posting a few posts about the pastel things I love, starting today with food.

Now, I know its petty strange but the thing I really love though is pastel coloured food. Some people will say that eating coloured foods puts them off there food, obviously I don't like everything I eat pastel coloured, what I really mean is that I love pastel coloured cakes, sweets and ice cream so basically any sugary foods. I think this is probably because when I think of pastel colours I think of sweet things.

As a young child I remember going to my godmother's house and her always having pastel coloured cakes or fondant fancies and she would always have pastel coloured cups which I loved. I also remember when M&S had pastel coloured fondant fancies that I absolutely adored.

Although I love pastel coloured cakes, I think my absolute favourite pastel coloured food would have to be Cadbury mini eggs, in fact these are probably my favourite food in the world!

I always love getting a pack of mini eggs and looking at the colour and of course smelling them, it is probably very strange that I do this but I associate the smell of mini eggs with pastel colours.

KONY 2012

Now, this isn't anything like what I planned to post this week but after seeing this I knew I had to post about it. The subject I am talking about is Invisible Children or to some of you, you might be more familiar with is KONY 2012. Most people will not know about this or who Kony is but they are marking him as the worst criminal in the world but because nobody knows about him 2012 is the year that Kony becomes famous in order to help capture him. I won't go in to great detail of what he does or how we plan to make him famous but by watching this video hopefully you will become aware of how much help we need to make him famous. The video below is incredible, I cried whilst watching it but felt so much better knowing that I'd seen it and now know much more about the campaign, it might be a long video but it is seriously worth your time, so please please watch it.

Following on from my previous blog post about the Vintage Fair, I forgot to mention a very special exhibitor that was there, that of course was Poppy . I cannot believe I forgot to mention them, especially as they have the same name as me! Poppy Children make very sweet dresses with adorable fabrics that 'depict the adventures of a little girl, Poppy, and her dog, Fred,' (quote from the website.) They originally started making just children's clothes, but have now brought out a small collection of women's dresses which are just to die for, they are so cute, perfect for summery days and if any of you have little girls you can look even more adorable with similar dresses. At the Vintage Wedding Fair I was lucky enough to see some of the children's and adults dresses that were there and the colours just made my heart melt, they were just so adorable. Obviously at the wedding fair they were promoting them as bridesmaids dresses but the dresses could be worn for any occasion, I think! They are too sweet to be just worn as bridesmaid dresses.

I absolutely adore the children's dresses they are so sweet but I am so glad that the have brought out a women's range because the dresses are just as sweet ads the children's ones. I would love one for myself but unfortunately I do not have one yet. However, if I were lucky enough to have one, i would get my favourite one, which is definitely the Beatrice Circus dress in Lemon Sherbet or in Spearmint. The colours on both of the are beautiful and the fabric print is so sweet and playful. I can just imagine me wearing one of the dresses on a summer day have an ice cream from Mrs Scoops' Vintage Scoops ice cream van, Betty.

I would strongly recommend if you have a young girl to go out and buy one of these dresses or you just want one to yourself, you will not be disappointed and neither will she.
